James Sule (Mr.) was born on 12th July, 1966 in Zonkwa, Zangon-Kataf Local Government Area to the Family of Mr. & Mrs. Sule Jatau from Farman in Kaduna State. He bagged a Bachelor Degree of Arts, Public Administration in 1988 from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He obtained Master of Arts in Public Administration (MPA) in 2008 from the famous University of Jos.
He started his career life in the Public Service in 1989 with his appointment as a Personnel Officer II in the Federal Civil Service and posted to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Lagos. He rose through the ranks in the Public Service which culminated in attaining the peak of his career as a Director (Administration) on 1st January, 2017 and subsequently appointed as a Permanent Secretary by the President on 30th September, 2020. In his tour of Service, he has worked in Twelve (12) Federal Ministries.
Until James Sule’s appointment as a Permanent Secretary, he was the Director, Recruitment and Appointment in the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) where he built a formidable Departmental Team that successfully stopped over 1,500 fake appointments from being documented into the Service and assiduously worked in tandem with MDAs and Security Agencies towards the arrest of the syndicates perpetrating the criminal and ungodly acts.
After appointment, he was deployed to Cabinet Affairs Office, in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation as Permanent Secretary/Deputy Secretary to Federal Executive Council. In June, 2023, Sule was redeployed to Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science & Technology and in January, 2024, he was again, redeployed to Federal Ministry of Art, Culture & the Creature Economy and to oversee Federal Ministry of Tourism.
